Our next Jubilee inspired event will take place in the Church in the afternoon of 27 September. We’re calling it simply Growing up in Hambledon and we hope that you will come along to hear stories from both long-term villagers as well as more recent younger residents. Hambledon has much in common with many rural communities around Britain but there are also exceptional stories and experiences that are unique to this Parish!
Many of our History Group have their own long history in the village – some born here and from a family going back generations. So if you are in that category we hope you will come ready to share a memory of an event, a person, a story – aided perhaps with a photo or another piece of history. The programme will start at 3.30pm and will be quite informal with as much audience participation as possible. The time was given as 7.30pm in the Hambledonian but we think the afternoon will make the event more accessible to all. Please do let me know if you would like to share something with this group so we can do a bit of planning. Also if you have contact with someone who no longer lives in the village or who may be a bit out of touch do let me know so we can send a personal invitation.
